The Environment of the Islands and the Gulf are fundamental to the quality of life on Waiheke.

One Waiheke invites writers to contribute on the key issues affecting us today as well as those that we need to address in order to still be a beautiful thriving place in 100 years time.

Sometimes it feels that the issues are too big for us to deal with, Climate change is a global event, will Waiheke saving a few tons of greenhouse gas emissions make a difference?   Yes it will if we can create ways of live that others can copy.

Other issues are more local – in our own back yard for example.  How do we balance our desire to have mobile phones with the radio masts that they involve
